Hi I am now having great success with my GPS logger and I have another question I am writing alot to the SD CARD How much data can I build up in a string ? Is it possible for me to dump to SD card say every 30 lines of data ? msg$ = msg$ + line4 IF counter$ > 10 then save to SD CARD reset msg$ - Andrew - Andrew Rich VK4TEC www.tech-software.net |

Strings are a maximum of 255 bytes long (plus one byte for the length). In memory, they use 256 bytes whatever length is used. You could use a string array to hold a number of records before saving. Each array element would use 256 bytes so there will be a limit to the size of the array (depending on your memory usage). Jim VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |
