Hi I have two UBW32's both on Micks great board. One of them has a real strange problem. If I boot the UBW with a sd card installed and a blank autorun file ie file size is 0 bytes I get the following error as seen in the screen shots Notice the [1] Same device below started with no autorun file present on the sd but the sd card inserted If I load a program after booting off with the autorun file present I get lots of number in square brackets on the display instead of the expected output. Run the same program without a autorun file present and it works as expected. Randomly I get a "invalid character" at boot time just above the > cursor Only one of the UBW32's has this problem and problem exists if I change Micks board so it is definitely on the UBW32 One thing this the same UBW32 that required a cap change to start I have tried it with USB power and with a PSU same results Anybody got any thoughts John |

Hi Winner I turned trace mode off and now the display is normal but after reboot trace mode is on again The odd part this only happens when I boot the UBW with an sd card inserted John |

Delete your autorun program and completely re-key it. It probably has a corruption in the file. |

I did that same and on of the UBW32' does this the autorun file is empty zero bytes I make it go if I remove the autorun file but I just thought it was odd John |

The SD card may have a bad section on it just where your autorun.bas was. |

measure the volts on the board as near to the SD card as possible. Volts may be low. I had trouble with mine and has to put a capacitor near the SD card on the 3.3 volt supply. |

Gday John, It definitely looks like it powers up with TRON enabled... Are you saying (it wasnt quite clear on this point) that if you DELETE the autorun.bas file then all is fine? If so the answer is dont use a `null' autorun file.. if it still plays up try shorting across R12 (2R2 ohm) with a wire link as maybe the SD is drawing a bit too much current and corrupts it a bit.. It could be on the limit of working which is why one works but not the other. Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Hi Mick Yip if I delete the autorun file then it power up with trace mode off If I set the autorun to run a file on the sd card it will power up in trace mode 50% of the time I tried removing the 2.2ohm resistor but no go Odd hey ! John |
