A great way to build boxes for projects. One thing that has always been a problem for me is the printing on the panel. How do you do it.
Paul.

Hi Paul,

It looks like he has used his NC Mill and grooved it into the surface of the acrylic using a `V' shaped cutter then filled with ink or Paint....

Yes its very nice...

My favourite method, as I dont have access to the toys Skartalov has, is to make a pretty design in Photoshop then print it out and plasticise it with a laminator...

Its the best result I can do at home and sure beats `dymo' tape.. PS the secret there is not cut the laminate all the way to the paper but leave a small 0.5-1 mm border around otherwise it might peel in time, especially if any moisture can get on it.

Regards,

Mick

My favourite method is to print the design (using an ink jet printer) onto adhesive backed paper and then cover it with thin adhesive plastic of the type used to protect book covers (both available from Office Works).

When trimmed to size the result is a thin, flexible adhesive label that equals a professionally printed label in quality. I used that technique on the Colour Maximite and anyone who has seen the prototype commented on it.

If you use the heavy duty adhesive paper the label will never peel off and the plastic coating makes it waterproof and easy to clean.

In fact it is easy.

There is not V- shape cutter used.
The whole thing is made on the laser engraver.
After cut out the panels, I "paint" them with regular permanent market, then I stear them with some cotton with ethanol. The ink in the engraved area remains. That's it!
