Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

That's real funny because I just checked stock on the LaunchPad at 3 US distributors.
Sparkfun has it for $5.95 USD
Digikey has it for $4.35 USD
Mouser has it for $4.30 USD with 143 in stock.

I checked at ti.com Online shop

Mouser has it for $4.30 USD ($5.81 AUD) with 143 in stock. yes with a $39.00 Shipping
Digikey has it for $4.35 USD Yes with $34.00 Shipping charge

I think I will stick with $12 atmel boards posted free from China & $30 Duinomite boards from my mate Dontronics.Edited by djuqa 2012-07-04

http://littlebirdelectronics.com/search?q=launchpad

Little Bird Electronics is the Sparkfun distributor in Australia
and they carry the LaunchPad for $10 AUD.
Its only the matter of shopping around for the best prices.

vasi said   According to this, there is an Arduino like IDE but you need to have bigger micros than the ones provided in launchpad.

Somehow, is a worthy investment for both educational and pro. areas.

Vasi,
I don't know how you find this stuff. Thanks for sharing.
I didnt even know this existed.

I also was very surprised to find it on Google+ exactly when I need it (during our msp430 discussion). At least, is his merit https://plus.google.com/102084202762717031043.

Maybe it's a good way of recycling old SIM cards ?
A small micro and some eeprom on plastic..
Cheap = $0 !!!
BTW google -> futurlec smart card ... the connector costs more
than the card though
