Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

The Olinuxino Blog was launched today.
http://www.olinuxino.com/

Along the same lines as what I did with the MaxiMite, and the DuinoMite products, I have created a blog to keep interested parties up to date with all Olinuxino news, applications, posts, links, and references.

Although very different to the MaxiMite & DuinoMite products for features and functions, I know Olinuxino will have a big following, if the Raspberry Pi is any indication.

People keep comparing Olinuxino with the Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone projects, so Olimex would like to state the differences here:

WOW Don,
After reading that new blog I gotta say the guys at Olimex are onto a big winner. With that A13 board one can see it becoming a cheap replacement for those big clunky desktop computers and the best part the power consumption will be minimal.

Since I ditched winblows alot of my time is spent learning the command line in linux and I'm amazed just how powerful it really is and what it can do. Count me in for one of the first boards and I'll transfer my time into trying to get the best out of it.

After all living off the grid using computers is the big power hog and I would love to be a part in getting this new concept off the ground.

Please stop the childish insults like winblows and windoze.

Hi Don ,

4 boards at same time
Well , what will be the board at most supported ?
And to stay in the 'logic' from easy to use , can you tell me if
Gambas :
Gambas Basic Compiler for Linux
will be compiled for those boards ?
It's the only powerful Basic like programming language easy enough to use i
have found around for Linux that i think every can learn in short time.
A super 'MM' basic will be no learning for the owner from the actual *MM
but i don't know if Geoff is ready to port it on Linux
And last question , what will be the price from
the (very) interesting A13 board ??

Cheers.

Theory is when we know everything but nothing work ...
Practice is when everything work but no one know why ;)

Initially the iMX233-OLinuXino-Maxi will be produced. Should be available within a month. Restriction on the iMX233 is the 64Mb memory. Will be interesting to see if Gambas will run successfully with this memory limitation.

Certainly the A13 version will be capable of virtually anything Linux, however this is still under development, and progress will be best seen on the user forum at:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/olinuxino/

Prices on the iMX233 three versions, have been quoted from 20 to 45 Euro. The A13 still being developed, will no doubt need the BOM finalized before a price is set.
