G'day Guy's,
Well before I really got into the DM/MM I entered the comp for the Design Spark Comp where they will give you a free ChipKit pic32mx512f795(sp) 100 pin chip on an Arduino style board.

This morning I got an email from then saying my entry was approved and within 2 weeks I will have one of the Diligent boards here to play with. Now this thing has 83 in/outs and a heap of other goodies so I am thinking this board could good to port a 100 pin DM to.

My Comp entry is for a Master Off Grid controller and when I do get the board I will spend some time working on that project but it won't detract from my work on the DM. I might have to save some pennies and get that MikroE pic32 basic compiler to do that project with too.

Regards Bryan

this is 795 so MM/DM should work on it, but note that this use FT232 for USB so will not work with MM/DM bootloader by default
you could change the firmware and use PIC programmer to load the firmware inside
I really like the idea to keep the Arduino format and make the connectors double row!
maybe we can implement it on eMega to have all GPIOs available for shields

Hello Tsventan,
That would be awesum if I can get the DM firmware to work on it. Now for the big question I do have a pickit3 here but to load as there are a heap of extra pins the firmware will need to be changed to suit. In my time of learning ASM guy's did try to get me into C but I found Oshonsoft Basic and went with that. Would it be possible for either you or Ken to email the firmware so I can have a look at the code and I may be able to get my head around it.

I will say if part of my comp project is first to implement a basic setup for programming in the project it will stand a heap in points for the comp. Now I will say if this does go ahead and I get anything out of the comp then any guys that help will get an equal share.

Regards Bryan

If you want to try a older version 2.5 i have one here MAX32 MMBasic 2.5
it uses usb flash drive instead of the sd card
also on that page is a new bootloader for the MAX32 that will reflash and load a image.hex off a usb drive ..

Well, I will be curious too if Brian will make that .hex file to work on his Chipkit Max32 board, because until now, it refused to work (read "refused to upload on the chip using the command stated on Ken site") on two new brand (untouched) boards.

Yes, I received my confirmation on the tenth, my intention is to attempt to load it with MM BASIC as well. The UBW version might be the way to go. Though, it's a bit of a pain having to design a companion PCB interface using Design Spark (compulsory).

I'm having a go at predictive load analysis...
