Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I'm not on Mint but all the drivers needed were already there and probably are for Mint, too. Post what fails, if anything

Hi,

When I plug in my usb cable the PC/Linux Mint does not recognize MM is there. I'll check user manual. Thank you

The only reference I see in the user manual is a Windows driver that's needed. Since I'm new at Linux I don't know how to compare Linux and Windows for driver requirements.

You need the DuinoMite manual.

elchucko, first check dmesg before and after you plug the board in. You should see it recognised.

Then I guess you need to know more about the MM. (The DM works as expected.)

I only have a DM. It appears as 1 of 2 devices:
1 when in bootloader mode
another when not in that mode

in case that helps.

Generally Windows needs drivers but Linux commonly has them available already. Don't assume Linux behaves the same as Windows!!

Now I'll really show my lack of knowledge. What is "dmesg"? I don't see any response from Linux when I plug the usb cable to the PC. Furthermore, what utility is available (such as Tera Term) to utilize the MM? Thank you

try googling dmesg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmesg

as it show lot of driver info you can type at command prompt "dmesg | grep tty* " before and after you plug your board

in DM user manual is written how to use minicom
