Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hmm, I think you mentioned you have previous backups of your system so make a current backup and try a clean install using the latest driver and nothing else... no virus scanners etc and see what happens.. Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Mick I think that will be the solution. I can't even think about it until I get back home next week and even then I'll have to get my head around the idea of doing a Windows install. If I do a minimal install and it works then I eventually have to do a full install. That is a non trivial task which is why I have good backups. The final solution, if there is one, may be weeks away. Bob |

I know, I posed it as a solution to see see if it is a hardware or a software fault... If it works then it is software if it doesnt I would suggest something is screwy in your MB hardware, regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

my bet is a software problem as the machine has both usb2 and usb3 which are implemented on different hardware and both fail. |
