Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

That is nice Glenn. How come it appears to be running through the white RCA plug? I thought composite video ran through the yellow plug.

Do you think I'm going to have any trouble running the small TFT's I ordered due to PAL/NTSC differences using a MM SD1?

These displays have two video inputs and no audio.
You can use either one.

Well, I read the SM1 manual, duh. I guess I'll need to use a VGA to composite converter for NTSC composites like we have in the states. PAL is not likely to work for me unless the little TFT screens have both PAL & NTSC built in.

The good news is I already drafted a sample screen layout in VGA using font 2. The other bit of good news is I already have a couple VGA to composite converters. Now I only need the 3.5 & 4.3 inch TFT screens to arrive.

Does anyone happen to know if it is common for these little TFT composite "back-up monitors" to come with the ability to work on both systems, PAL and NTSC? There are no specs listed to this point in the auction listings for the two I ordered.

Mine just arrive today.

Running on a DuinoMite-Mega in NTSC-480 mode, it is perfect.

Cheers Don...

Hey ratsac I think you posted this in the wrong section. Where did you want it to be?

TassyJim said   My 4.3 inch monitor is a CZ7 model.
Current draw when displaying is 124mA from 13V
68mA when no input.

Pete, If you are running long distances and multiple monitors you might need to install a video amplifier.

I think the monitors come in NTSC or PAL depending on where you live. Mine is PAL.
They are also wide screen so you either loose some screen area by running in 4x3 mode or have a stretched display. If you do your own fonts, they can compensate for the wide screen easily.

Where did you get the clock code? Is it "load and go"? I've attempted (not lately) to get a clock pgm to run on my MM....I'll have to try again.

The clock app came from the sample programs in MMBasic Library V1.6 on Geoff's web site.
I had to change the layout to suit the smaller composite display and the date will not advance. I intend to rewrite bits if it to make better use of some of the MMM Basic features and maybe add sunrise times etc.

It will not be very diplomatic of me to fire up the other PC to get the modified code of it today but maybe later....
