I tried to run crackerjack's bitwise programme but the following error message appeared:-

"Line 50 unknown command"

Line 50 is:-

50 ? "Original Decimal: ";V:? "Shift: ";S;" place."

I am just starting to learn MMBasic & I can't see what is wrong with this line.

As I understand it:-

? = PRINT

; suppresses the line feed/carriage return

: separates expressions

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Len

Len,

be sure that there's a SPACE between the ? and the following text.

50 ? "original Decimal: ";V:? "Shift: ";S;" place."

Hi

50 ? "Original Decimal: ";V:? "Shift: ";S;" place."

Try this

50 ? "Original Decimal: ";V : ? "Shift: ";S;" place."

This works for me

> run
Original Decimal: 0
Shift: 0 place. 0
> list
50 ? "Original Decimal: ";V : ? "Shift: ";S;" place."new

That was quick.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try it later this evening.
