I'm looking at fitting my sm1 to a small enclosure. After reviewing the schematics, could you suggest what type and where to install the leds so they can be seen from the box? Where in the circuit to install a pwr sw. I want to confirm my ideas on this subject. Don't want to screw it up. Although I have a "box" on order, I thought about using one of the CD case types that can accommodate the sm1 pcb. Yep, there is! I'd have to do some cutting that would expose the pwr connector and I/O more than I would like. The case is clear so I could see the LEDS. There would not be any expansion capability so I'm going the "buy a box" route. Aw shucks, I'm probably way off base on this one! |

I put the power switch on the + lead of my power supply before connecting it to the green power connections points on the circuit board. Oh, you are using the USB to power it? Hum... I don't know about that, never ran my SM1 that way. We're all here 'cause we're not all there. |

Not too many USB powered devices have a USB power switch. In fact, it would be rare I would think. Even an external hard drive, you unplug it to power it down, so I don't see this as being a problem. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |
