Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I'm using Windows 7 and would like to configure Putty. When attempting to run Putty I get an "unable to open connection COM1, unable to open serial port". I left all setting but "serial" to default. Is there a sample configuration setup for using Putty to communicate with the Maximite SM1? Thank you

Is COM1: correct in device manager?
You have the serial driver installed?

PuTTY is good, but try MMIDE by CircuitGizmo. it may make things easier, as you don't have to figure out your comms port for one thing.

Thanks for the 'plug', Don. I've already fixed the blank line problem for saved files and added two additional features. I will be adding enough VT100 support to fix backspace and CLS.

Then XMODEM support.

I have placed CG's latest MMIDE Terminal driver at the URL above, however it is a work in progress and doesn't have the full features yet.

Sorry CG, getting this error on both MM and DM when I click on the set date:

> date$ = "Nov18-11" : time$ = "8:14:30"
Error: Invalid syntax

I know it is a work in progress, but thought I would let you know before others do.

Ah crumb.

I thought it would be a fast/quick feature. Apparently my code is being thwarted by the country "locale" setting.

I think I know a work-around. Besides "move to the U.S." :-D

I felt it would be a local OZ setting.
Can you get me a green card at my age?

Cheers Don...

OK, it looks like I should not have asked the question. No green card needed!

Heh!

Already fixed Don's problem (on my copy). Will roll that fix into the next public MMIDE update.Edited by CircuitGizmos 2011-11-19
