"It depends" might be a good answer.

Don't forget to account for Veteran's Day (U.S.) (no post).

I got mine in about a week or so from Oz - from Dontronics.Edited by CircuitGizmos 2011-11-16

Hello elchucko,

Greetings from Alaska.

Ordered my first SM1 September 24th, arrived in Alaska Oct 3rd, 10 days.

Ordered #2 & 3 SM1s October 16, arrived in Alaska Oct 27, 11 days.

Ordered #4 & 5 SM1s November 6, should arrive tomorrow, I hope!

These are the greatest.

I saw where you were wondering what powered these little giants. Mine don't run on 6 volts. I've had no trouble powering them with anything from 8 VDC to 14 VDC. I have never used the USB connection to power them. I prefer to use them as stand-alone computers. Sounds like that is your plan too so thought I'd share this in case you didn't see it noted elsewhere.

Cordially,

Pete in Hyder

I plan to use a PC usb port. When standalone I want to use a 120 AC to 5v DC switching converter, the type used to charge cell phones, etc.

you will need a plug pack that can put out at least 150 ma and 6 volts five may run it but the power when powered from the power sockt/terminals goes directly to a 5 volt reg then the out put of the five volt reg is fed to the three point three volt reg....generally where the volt regs are concearned its a general rule to have two volts over the reg voltage out put....

If you use the elcheapo ebay type, AC to USB 5VDC units to power via USB, they work fine.

Look under power at:

Yes I bought a 120 ac to 5v 1 amp charger from Wal*Mart. If it doesn't work I'll just return it to WM and punt. While reading many posts here on a variety of subjects concerning the Maximite (going back to June), I saw the learning curve on this product and know I'll be going through the same thing except you've "paved " the way. ;)

elchucko: If it doesn't work, let me know and I'll send you something that does work. You have an SM1?

Sorry Bryan, it appears Sparkey is the only customer in the world, that has a DuinoMite.

The first were posted out Wednesday, so I would hope that others would have had them for the weekend.

Cheers Don...
