this is my idea:: would it ever be possable that the maximite would have a specilized custom made forum that maximiters would be able to view text messages... over a modem i guess ..it would be more like a bbs on this web site... ... using their maximite as a stand alone unit...as well as being able too down load programs....as in text files.... .thats not to say that this forum would not be required but.. it will still be needed for..other aspects & internet still be required for pics and so on... regards sparkey technicians do it with least resistance |

i am using one as we speak thats not to say u couldent use adsl when the eternet gear fianally appears ... technicians do it with least resistance |

Packet radio is still used around Australia and some nets do have one or more BBS attached. I can't see why not, but you would need an interface and modem. Its easier to ask forgiveness than to seek permission! ............VK6MRG.............VK3MGR............ |

My Mother in Law still has a dialup connection for her email... $10pm and occasionally over $20 if she uses more than the HUGE =8-) 90MB allowance... I have tried to push her into a USB broadband plan would cost about the same and not have to pay for phone costs and tie up the phone line and be faster but she is set in her ways and wont consider it at all..
