Guys

There is much that is happening in the "Back Shed" with many people going off on tangents and purists saying we have to be faithful to the Maximite etc.

I have given much thought to the various debates, ideas, designs and directions that people are pursuing or requesting.

My 20c is that there are a number of different paths evolving for the Maximite hardware and software. Let human ingenuity take it's course ...

Let us not forget that the Maximite is itself a spin off of the PIC32. The PIC32 is the core hardware and there are many versions of the PIC32 which can be put to work in various designs. However, all PIC32's are programmed using the C programming language.

Geoff's design is a son called Maximite with some 'C' coded to appear as a version of BASIC called MMBasic. MMBasic is Geoff's software implementation. MMBasic makes life easier for those of us who only speak BASIC and who need an interpreter to speak to the PIC32.

The Maximite hardware is Geoff's implementation of the PIC32 core.

The PIC32 core is the creation of Microchip and Microchip is the creator!

What we do and where we go will be with the PIC32 ... until PIC64 and then ...

I'm thinking or tinkering with the idea of a multiple core implementation ... many PIC32's all working as a team when one is not enough.

I would love to see a "quad core" Maximite!
Its easier to ask forgiveness than to seek permission!
