I try to get rid of the NTP messages on the console which occurs every time the WEB NTP command executes. "option web messages off" does not help, it even does not show up in "option list" as set. Is there any other option which i should enable or is this message not suppressible? Regards, Gerald 73 de OE1HGA, Gerald |

I'm not sure about this at all. Isn't it supposed to work like that? All error messages etc. go to the console as the user isn't intended to see them. They can optionally appear on a connected display, I think. I'm only guessing, but isn't this an information message that you'd expect on the console but may not want on a display? I'm d'accord as long as we talk about error messages. But the message i want to get rid of is: ntp address 192.168.0.254 got ntp response: 01/11/2024 11:01:43 which for me is an informational message and that is going to disrupt whatever is displayed on the console in the normal program flow. I just didn't want to look for a workaround .... particularly as there is this option web messages off .... 73 de OE1HGA, Gerald |

My point is that the user shouldn't be seeing the console on a Webmite. The user sees the info on a browser, LCD display or whatever. It doesn't matter whether system messages on the console are informational or errors as only the developer or system monitor will see them. You don't really want to suppress them. In fact, in many (probably most) cases there will be nothing connected to the console connection. As I said though, I'm unsure on this answer and I don't have enough experience with the Webmite to give an accurate answer to your question. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Don't know what version you are running but OPTION WEB MESSAGES OFF works for me (V6.00.00RC12). This command is temporary and should be included in a program Edited 2024-11-01 20:34 by matherp |

Thanks for your input and sure, you are basically right with your opinion. I'll think about that more deeply to find a proper solution. Sometimes i'm thinking too complicated .... 73 de OE1HGA, Gerald |
