Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

No. Must use the Pico2 firmware. But your programs should work.

Likely--for the most part. (I don't know enough to know the differences, though, and haven't yet received the Pico2 I ordered.)

using picomite lcd then all you should see is a speed improvement. not the spi display but the program.
frame buffers seem different.
same with existing vga programs.
olimex hdmi is something else but seems to be worth using with the support so far

Designs 1 and 2 are conventional AFAIK. The Pico 2 should drop straight in.
You need to load it with the Pico 2 VGA version of MMBasic *without* USB support.

Song of the day :

I am a dull and simple lad
Cannot tell water from champagne
And I have never met the Queen
And I wish I could have all he has got
I wish I could be like Mixtel90
And when I lie on my pillow at night
I dream I could fight likeMixtel90
And lead the Forum team to victory
Take my exams and pass the lot
I wish I could be like Mixtel90
I wish I could be like Mixtel90
I wish I could like, like Mixtel90
I wish I could be like Mixtel90
He is the head boy at the school
He is the captain of the team
His is so gay and fancy free
And I wish I could have all he has got
I wish I could be like Mixtel90
And all the girls in the neighborhood
Try to go out with Mick
The try their best but can't succeed
For he is of pure and noble breed

ROFL!!!!

You, sir, are an utter nutter.

You (and everyone else) have two problems: finding the current firmware and knowing how to use it, given that there is no manual. :)

Phil's link will get you to the firmware - just make sure you use the correct uf2 in the zip.

This may or may not help with discovering how to use it:
MMBasic catchup.pdf
(It's getting out of date already)

(If you could see me in my hovel the last things you would even consider are "upper class" and "innate breeding". But you are lucky. When I were a lad there was twelve of us sittin' in a swamp round a candle and if it were cold we lit it!)

Thanks Mick for the MMBasic catchup document!
Timing perfect! I just returned from our holiday home after a looong stay there. No MMBasic-ing there for over 3 months (just breafly following the backshed on the phone from time to time). I have for a couple of days tried to catch up by reading many interesting threads and concluded that I was probably the only one being on holidays this summer.

Luxury!

We had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before we went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down the mill, and pay the mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home... our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."

And you try to tell the young people of today that ... they won't believe you.

No, They won't.

and we know Mick you were never no Peter "Tucker" Jenkins from Grange Hill, Some how Mick you don't strike me as Compressive School Material, You can Spell! ;) :)

Thanks for the Pico 2 info ;) I'm looking forward to the Turbo Math
