Back up and running. Bandwidth will be slow for a day or two, servers have a lot of email to process and there is one adsl line down. Site running on backup generator. Local exchange was down too. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Gizmo I can sleep now since i've finally accessed my Treasure Box. It seamed to be necessary for me to hit the bookmark every 10 minutes. Definately addicted. When you get some time I'm sure that many would be interested in some details about your local area damage, and if you were affected. Reguards, Roe. Time has proven that I am blind to the Obvious, some of the above may be True? |

Hi Glenn, good to hear you weathered the storm OK. Very calm here at the moment, but bad weather has just hit WA as well. Sounds like power was cut to many areas, so was good move to shut the site down as a precaution. Gordon. become more energy aware |

The site is still up and down, no power yet at the ISP and they are shutting down the generators at night and to refuel. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Yeah funny Robb Everything is getting back to normal here. The web site has power again, and we we found a faulty ADSL modem was causing the bandwidth slow downs. Its amazing how a few days without power, spent cleaning up tree branches, can make a dent in your business life, so I'll be working flat out for a few weeks just to catch up financially. I'm renting a house while my place is on the market, so I dont have any windmils or solar panels on the go. I did set up a couple of the big old CAT batteries Phill gave me, and my little 300 watt sinewave inverter, so I could watch TV and charge up my phone. At the start, I measured the battery voltage at 12.14v, after watching tv for 4 hours, it was 12.13v The batteries are rated at 1500cca ( cold cranking amps ), I dont have a AH figure. Glenn, The cat batteries would be over 200ah. I have one left that is still alive out of the 4 I got. 2 died and sold one. Trev @ drivebynature.com |
