Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I was going to attach a PDF log of my battery equaliser to a message but its 700Kb and the forum only allows 500Kb.
So, how easy is it to reduce?

With .jpeg I simply use a free program called irfan view, is there something similar that can handle PDF files?

Thanks
Klaus

Try online smallpdf, it may compress 700kb enough.

Couple of tricks when creating the PDF can reduce its size.

Use common fonts, like Arial or New Times Roman. And see if you have the option of embedding fonts or not, when you create the PDF. If so, dont.

Also reduce the size of any images included in the PDF. Resize you images to less than 640 pixels wide before you paste them into the document to be converted to a PDF. Programs like Word will still embed the full size image, even if you have scaled it down in Word, so better to do the scaling down before you place the images into Word.

Also try zipping it up, but PDFs are pretty compact anyway.

Thanks guys, I tried smallPDF first and it worked a treat. So simple to use too.

You can see what it did in the solar forum.
