Wondering if anyone can help, I want to retro fit my mill but before I do I decided to try a smaller project using a cheap chinese drill press. I have some trouble getting the stepper motors running properly. I am using mach 3 and a tb6560 board.2 axis seem to be ok the other just shudders even tho all are set up the same. Ive tried switching them around checked wiring still get the same result. I new and a beginner so be gentle with me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Have you adjusted the motor tuning in Mach3, you will need to tune each motor/axis, Pete. Sometimes it just works |

Yep Pete's spot on, go through the motor tuning. My CNC used a laptop computer to drive it, and recently I changed this to a PC ( laptop died ). Even though I used the same Mach3 configuration, one axis would not run, and I was suspecting a hardware issue. But I went through the motor turning, and that fixed it. There's a few Mach3 setup tutorials online, highly recommended. Glen The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
