So I'm going to be working on a hydro generator. Nothing really that fancy, I just want to see if I can make it and then put it together. I'm going to be using one of those green light bulbs you see everywhere in order to test out how it works. I'll put it in the water and watch it light the light bulb. My question here is simple. I'm trying to figure out what the best motor is to use for this? I've seen people use treadmill motors, washing machine motors, and a lot more. I'm curious what the best one would be to use for this little project. Please, all help would be greatly appreciated. |

It's a creek with a different water flow speed depending on rainfall but the spot I'm doing it at is right next to a covert that is right under a road. I was thinking of blocking that off to make a faster water flow. Like damning it. There is also a part of my old town, a flood gate, that I was going to put it at to push it. |
