Hello,
Yhea Ya.....not the kind you Drink......Well my orginal idea isnt.
It burns cleaner than any fossil fuel, less or no Carbon Dioxide. All of us have some sort of grain or berries to ferment.Plus its renewable, and us back yard tinkers could make it in our own back yard. Yes our Petro motors would need some modifications but I think thats what its about, making what we have, better for all.(Hey why not bring prohibition back? ) oopps did i just say that? Well guy's & Gal's It's just an idea I have and was wondering what everyone thinks????? Oh i know the govenment won't like it or the oil companies but what the heck......I know Ethynol, I mean 100% alcohol
Well thanks, Tell me what you think.

Hi GJK

I tried alcohol as a fuel and I think the amount of trouble to produce it in small scale makes it uneconomical as a fuel, the lower energy quotient and modifications to the motor also make it a bit to much trouble. A methane gas generator could use the same biomass and be easier to do on on a small scale.

If you can make some good stuff better to drink it with your mates and discuss the solving of world problems.

All the best

Although it's frightfully dangerous stuff, methyl alcohol can be had by fractional distillation of wood chips using concentrated sunlight as a power sourece.

Of course, if you drip it on your skin, inhale the fumes or, God forbid, get it into your eyes, I hear using an M1911 on oneself is the first thought that comes to mind! Very dangerous stuff.

I'd take Bob's advice and work it out using a biomass reducer. The gas can be safely held under water and an inverted water column can provide "working pressure" for a stove or heater.
