I've never seen this before. Built in the 30's in Russia. The only documentation is ,K7,Awesome ! Interesting that all the props are vertical? Maybe dressed for a picture. Note the cannons on the Third picture. Edit: Last pic on the web site could be authentic as that is photo quality for that time period after aging. also note the dogfight with UFO. Link to K7

Its obviously CGI. (Computer Generated) The background does not fade off correctly (too uniform) not to mention dozens of other faults. It should work ...in theory |

SpuDd; I did a search to find the source of this Monster ,It turns out that it's not nearly as big as it looks however at the time of construction this must have been something to behold. The DC-3 was just introduced at this time.I believe their passenger load is 18, Hey ! they are still fiying. a small airline in southeast US wore out 23 sets of engines on one of these. Hereis a link to the real thing Time has proven that I am blind to the Obvious, some of the above may be True? |

Karl, No spark plugs and oil changes...This is Russian!! They dont maintain, they throw away. Its the only way they can maintain reliability. In 96 i worked in Russia and we had/used these huge X rocket carriers with 60 or so wheels under them as semi trailers to move equipment around. They had a jet engine (X aircraft) jammed up the front between two little cabs left and right of the jet. The wierdest thing i have seen. My engineer working with me (Russian) was X airforce and a very clever person ( for usd $20.00 per day we got the cream of the lot) He informed me the engines only done 30 hours flying time and then was changed out and mounted in ground based equipment as reliability was to poor for extended use. I would have to agree Russian built stuff is really crap and things fell apart on a regular basis. I could not belive just how poorly things were built there. My first flight in one of their choppers scared the hell out of me as it was a flying junk pile, I did get use to it but never felt trusting of any of their aircraft. They do have some mean mother choppers and we used some to to do close to 20 ton lifts with them as it was easier to get a chopper than a crane in most cases. I watched a Toyota land crusier get blowen away like a tin can from the down draft of a large chopper. The Toyota looked like you had rolled it down a mountain after. I will hunt up some photos some day and post of the Russian stuff. It was an eye opening experiance. ( i still shutter at the thought ) Pete. Sometimes it just works |
