I like it, price is good too. no power but great ornament!
Also good for you Pete, you'd have to be able to build this in an arvo.

Nice Karl, But what would i do with all that power...A full 10 watts of it.
Whats more i see they claim it has a built in charger to...What the????

Before you crack open your piggy bank to buy one of these, I actually built one about three weeks ago and it didn't spin for crap! Mine used three blades instead of five, but the only way I could make it spin was to crank it by hand. It has since joined the "dunnage closet" crew!
Nothing difficult is ever easy!

The Savonius design is my favorite so far maybe because it's only one I've ever got to spin good. I've made one out of cardboard tube maybe 6" diameter x 2' tall. And I made a 1' Diameter x 1' tall one out of sheet metal and plywood. Just yard ornaments but do look cool. And spin pretty good for drag based turbines.Edited by GreenD88 2010-02-16
