the year....2018 the AV receiver..... Onkyo nr-676 the price.....$1329 $70 off RRP. the street price in O-merica $410 max. $450 off RRP I have seen it as low as $364 with free shipping and a $135 gift card seriously? It is not even the 2018 model. What the hell is going on? I have looked at seven or eight name brand network home theater amps and it is exactly the same. I know whats going to happen, there will be a one day fire sale and I will miss it! JB and Harvey N flogged a few off last year for $580 but since then nothing. I find this strange, we are in step with the USA on electronics prices on a wide range of goods. I have found if I choose a price stateside convert miles to kilometers (1.6) there are usually prices similar here. I have some theories on why the USA has perpetual sales on some goods. anyone else got some ideas? I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |

Its the old Australian markup. You try buying cad or web development software, double the price of US. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

I was getting some photos off one of my old phones and found this old photo, I believe It was a Hardly Normal sale, October 2013. we already had a pioneer 5.1 and was looking at the new 7.1 AV Receiver, did not buy it. Price has not changed much if I'm looking at the same old model. I have not even used the system for the last 3 years. Cheers Aaron Off The Grid |

Have had an intermittent electronic fault for a few weeks in my Onkyo TX-SR702 - an older model a bit long in the tooth I know. I thought I had fixed it, reconnected everything - fine for a few days and then no sound again. It is such a pain to disconnect and reconnect everything I decided to replace it. I just purchased this week another Onkyo a TX-RZ710, essentially a current model network theatre amp that normally retails for ~ $1999 for $899. It is awesome, simple to set up calibrate and use. Its replacement is TX-RZ730 which is $1999 and is a minor upgrade. The units are new not refurbished in genuine original Onkyo packaging. Purchased from Here They still have stock - but not expected to last long as it is a stock run out. PS the same night I installed the new one I found the fault in the old one - a dry joint on (Write Enable) pin7 of an EEmemory chip. Now works a treat again.....bugger....now what to do with it.....ebay...boat anchor Forgot to mention your NR-676 is $699 - prices include delivery Aussie wide. If at first you dont succeed, I suggest you avoid sky diving.... Cheers Mike |

Thanks Mike. that RZ710 and the bigger bro RZ810 are great receivers. Unfortunately I have blown my budget on some other stuff. The money I set aside for a 3D printer, TV and receiver has been spent on some new lithium cells, pre loved panels and torroid cores (and a fancy smart phone). A "care package" has arrived from Electrodacus and the lure of solar thermal mass storage and water heating for next winter is just too strong to resist. I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |
