Well guy's the time finally came where our 7.5kg F&P washing machine has met it's maker. Well as Margaret was preggers with our first baby which makes it 13 years and I did swap some electronic gear for the washing machine.

I did have to do a repair when an electronic component failed and I had a spare on an old board I had in the shed.

The failing was the pump impeller was blocking with hair and the plastic internal threads that hold the water pump tight were all stripped so noway after removing the hair could I get it sealed. I did a washing run anyway and kept the flooding down by directing the water into the drain. When it came to the spin cycle the machine died.

Well as one can imagine it was can you fix it like you did before and the answer was no I reckon the pump died and the machine has met it's maker.

Well a week after and a long weekend and today was the decision to go and find a new washing machine. Rather than use the local Radio Rentals where the better half said they can go jump we drove down the hill to West Lakes and had to wait for the store to open. WTF 11am opening time anyway went and grabbed a snack then when we got back the store was opening.

Well walking in I said we want a new machine and secondhand one we I got told they only sell new. Looking at a new F&P top loader close to grand was too much and went for a look at the front loaders. Saw a F&P cheaper than the top loader then went to look for a base machine for the step son.

The price for both machines were a tad over $1200 so I said if you can get it lower than a grand then you got a sale. $998 was the reply so with the Hilux outside loaded both machines up with plenty of bubble wrap.

One happy step son and with a baby due this year they did need a washing machine so dropped it off.

Got home and with one heavy F&P front loader washing machine to get of the ute by myself gravity did take effect as it tumbled over. The relief came when I saw the travel bolts.

The big laugh came when my youngest daughter was giving us info on the washing cycle as she had never seen such a thing before.

I am dead keen in time to open the back up and see what motor they are using and is it worthy to be be butchered to make power.

Cheers Bryan

hi Bryan ,,

You bring a smile to my dial when I read your stories.

I reckon if you so much as look at that motor in the new machine ,Margaret will be buthchering you ,ol son !!.

best lock it in the laundry and go have a smoke ,ol fella.

My W7 modded inverter got struck by lighting and so I'm on the look out for either someones broken one or something similar. She,s been good for the last couple years ,the mod has worked well -by the way the postings on the mod on energy matters is up to 136 pages , so that must be some sort of a record .( for those who don,t know, I swapped the old style transformers with a Torodial type ring transformer out of a scrapped solar regulator).

so, anyone out there with a powerstar W7 48 volt inverter that is excess to requirements ,let me know.

ok, Bryan, hope you and the family are all well ,might catch you back on "that" forum one day .
