My query relates to the control of ceiling fan/fanlight using a Remote Control. In my previous house, Owner Built, I had a remote which operated thus:
On turning on the room light switch at the wall the light came on and the remote could be used for controlling the fan speeds and the light during the night.
Often when leaving the room in the morning the light was Off but the room switch was still in the On position.
When re-entering the room at night and finding the wall switch already in the On position we would simply switch it Off and On again, the light would come on and the remote could then be used again. All very logical.
However in the new house under the same circumstances, ie wall switch already On, we cannot reset the system and have to navigate the room in the dark trying to find the remote! NOT LOGICAL.
Our builder's Electrician cannot offer a solution and I am wondering if different brands of controller operate differently or whether his wiring is a bit off.
Has anyone out there had similar experiences.
Thanks
