Having trouble finding smartdrives in the UK , found 2 both where aluminium windings shall I go to the trouble of rewinding the coils in copper or use as stock? If I rewind the coils what gauge wire? I'm hooking it up to a Seahawks wawt

Have you read THIS ?

Can you reconfigure your aluminium windings?

Re connecting aluminium electrically I think may be a challenge,

However something like EXAMPLE may be helpful and a steady hand.

I would try one with the original windings, then when you have it working decide either to go again or a rewire in copper.

Thanks that was my plan . I did have Hugh piggotts book on turbine construction with a good section on winding coils but I've lost it , thicker or thinner copper wire for slow speeds just can't remember the stock stator has 1mm wire but that's aluminium, so if enyone has eny thaughts please jump in
