Earlier this year there was a post about heat generating power, I couldnt find the original post so had to start this one.

In the original post I said that when I got back home I would post a picture of the one I aquired, it was made by an American company TELEDYNE isotopes & was used as a power source for two way radio repeater station battery charging during cyclonic/cloudy periods where solar power failed.
It is powerd by LP gas & according to the tech plate the output is 14.72 Volt,3.4 Amp, 50.04 watt with a .3 amp rack drain at 13.8 volt.
I havnt tested this as yet but my intention is to use it when we eventually move down south & when ive got the wood fire burning in the shed harness the heat from the fire & force it through the metallic conductors ( 4 off ).

Hi Barry and Mack

You can get a heat electricity generation with peltier plates, I had an article on my computer that died, about a guy in Canada that powered his cabin from peltier plates attached to his wood stove, lights and radio no need for fridge up there, it kept his batteries charged all winter when there was no solar. I think from memory it did about 5 amps, he circulated coolant anitfreeze from outside to get the best temperature differential.

I believe the peltier plate is the solid state version of the thermocouple.

I bought some plates and tried it and it works but the return was low from solar black steel plats in the sun 120 deg c under glass to ambient air temp 30Deg C returned 110 ma so would need a lot of plates and a tracker to be useful.

Hi Group;
I want to correct a mistake in a previous post. It is on the page that MacGyver
linked to above.
Correct, 0.021 volt to read 0.21 volt for thermocouple battery.

Any specs on gas consumption? It looks as if the product is still about.

I havn't run this unit as yet so have no idea what the gas consumption would be like.
Where these thing were installed there was a setup for 2 x 100 lb LPG bottles but there is no'one still around who ever saw these things in operation.
I do intend to test it with gas & will post the result & if it still works.
