Hi Crew..

I'm have ing bad problems with my upload speed ,,some times during the night and early morning it's non-existant,,just barely works,,but can't open some applications ,even the bigpond speed test won't load.

I'm with Cirrus ,,the Gosford based isp that took over the rural microwave service that was provided by the fed Gov some 5 years ago to get rural customers connected..
I've e-mailed them but no replies as yet ..

Funny thing ,,,around 8.30am it speeds up to be ok

anyone out there with the same problem

thanks
Bruce

I'm in the states (California) and I have a theory about Internet speed. I've
noticed that whomever has the latest and greatest high-speed this or
that seems to actively try to capture the market share of business, which
is what you'd expect, but at the same time, it seems the others' services
start to lag. I'm not really into conspiracy theories, but this seems to fit
that bill.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they've all gotten their heads together and
are taking the rest of us for a ride!

Another thing I'm leery of are "Microsoft" programs that are "emulated" on
Macs. We have 3 Macs and one PC. The PC has been in my closet in a
box for the past 5 years, if that tells you anything!

At any rate, Microsoft Word runs really, really slow on all my Macs.
Another thing; I have 'Microsoft Word' spread sheets that no matter what
I do, always come up with a section that defaults to Times New Roman
font, even though the rest of the thing is printing in Ariel. I've tried to
copy and paste a spread sheet that has been saved off in Ariel and as
soon as I enter figures into that area of the thing, it defaults to Times
New Roman. Go figure!
Nothing difficult is ever easy!
Perhaps better stated in the words of Morgan Freeman,
"Where there is no struggle, there is no progress!"
