What a great site.

Has anyone has chopped 40mm of the end of the bearing assembly & inserted another rotor similar to this ?
Also having them so close can anyone tell me if this affect the out put ?

When I spin the Stators they only have approx. 2mm +/-1mm wobble as I cut them with a 1mm angle grinder whilst letting the grinder rotate on the bearings.

Obviously I have not connected both of the Rotors together as yet.
So, other than fiberglass is there an easier way to connect the two ?

I have seen a few that have home made bearing assembles for wind, but this is far too complicated for me at this stage of the project.

Looks good so far, i have seen another set up like this but they had the coils off set, not in line together.. I think it will reduce the clogging effect. The way you have is set in the photos the clogging will be bad..

Like the avatar Is it you or just an intrest.. I own and fly a trike in North-east vic.

Andy..

2.Make it heavy.

3.Make it stronger than it should be.

4. Don't rush the first job as the second job will cost more and take mor

I wouldn't think cogging will be a bad thing on hydro. Its not stop start like wind.

Would like to see the finished product

This Project was shelved as no one was interested is assisting me.

From what I have read to stop coging all you have to do is Ground the metal areas round, making sure not to damage the Copper windings.

For the Magnetic Hubs, I was thinking of Fibreglassing them together, I also thought of using thin sheet metal but not sure of the effect to the magnets & efficiency.

As for the PPG, yes I have been using a mated Aerochute.
However I have a new Quad PPG arriving in a few weeks.
I am in Sydney & will be flying south of Barrington Tops National Parks.

The centre blade to be built onto a geared hub belt driven to the Generator that will be housing and suspended over the structure below.

This is what I am building to place the generator housing over the centre of the vortex.
