I'm home now after some serious surgery to remove some cancer cells(they tell me?),

Anyhow, it turns out they found 2 X F&P stators in there, two windmill blades, a couple of inverter parts and a heap of  posts missing the attached photos ??.

I have to go back for more operations to get the missing photos-but I think I'll give that one a miss.!!.

Have a nice day ,  remember , wear a hat when outside !!!.

Glad your on the mend, and they got it all.

And you got something for the money. Could use a FP stator.

I do feel for you.

The specialist told the nose was fine and the head was empty, but now i didn't have to block my ears so the light wouldn't come out my nose. And the whistling, has gone.
So thats a plus. Im definitely with you on the hats, for shore now.

All the best.

Im telling every one the wife finely had enough and used the rolling pin.
No one seems surprised.

Thanks for the nice thoughts Ben and Amber + all the forum friends.

They are having a round table discussion about what they will do for me ,tomorrow.. Two parts ,I'm led to believe,

First is radiation ,trying to stop the spread of the cancer cells to larger channels of my neck, and shoulders.

Second , and probably anyhow, is further excision of cancer cell material around the neck muscle ...

Anyhow, teleconferencing on Wednesday to advise the procedure.  No visits to hospital during this Coronavirus period.

I'm peaceful enough , was a bit ratsh*tte last week when they told me , but settled now.

I am in the process of building an inverter with the help of Aaron , who lives an hour west of me . He's been very helpful and has ordered most of the boards and on-board components.

I'm this morning figuring out how to remove the huge heatsink from the grid-tie inverter that I salvaged the Torodial transformer from years ago for my Powerstar W7 conversion .

If anyone has done the large heatsink removal ,please reply as to any tricks in it's removal . That white heat transfer gunk really sticks the al heatsink to the stainless steel case (forget the name of those grid-tie inverter that we bought for scavangening couple years back-lots of people dis the conversions ,so many would know how to remove the heatsinks.

Thanks ,

Bruce

Success,

So easy to remove the big heatsink , Oh, I remember the inverter now, it is an "INSPIRE" 1.5 Kw off-grid , had a mighty toroidal , choke and heatsink ,plus now I'm using the lovely case for my new inverter.

How was it easy --- first undo the 9 small retaining bolts inside the case,  2 - using a couple thin wall cabinetmakers chisels ,gently ease out a gap between the heatsink and case  3. now move to a couple of cold chisels. 4  you can get a 15mm gap now and gently prise the heatsink away from the case .

No scratches, marks ,just the heat-transfer gunk left ,which you can clean off with some acetone(be careful, that stuff burns your skin)

So, there you go ,10 minutes and job done .. I'll consider reducing the size of that heatsink and replace it . the full heatsink weighs more than the stainless steel case !!.

Lots of fittings (studs) inside the case are spot-welded, so I'll leave them there, and work around them ,when I accomodate my boards, connections, choke,Torodial coil and whatever else is necessary to complete the inverter.

Aaron will be happy ,that I got a nice case , he's keen as mustard to get going on this project. He's happy with his latest inverter . I'm appreciative of his company and his help ,just shows you how nice it is to have this forum with so many helpful members. A big THANK YOU .
