Hey guys, I scored a nice Kubota rk95 like here .
I want to marry it up with one or two F&P drives.
The motor will idle at around 750 rpm, the power at that speed is probably enough to run a single FP.
I have a pulley already fitted on the unit which is 110mm diameter.
I ordered a 180mm diameter pulley to go on the FP shaft.
So if the engine is running at 800 rpm then the FP will be doing 500 (I think)
Can anyone give some advice as to the best way to rewire it?

Might be an idea to mount it and see the voltage from one finger.
Currently have a 42 pole .8mm wire and a 36 pole .6mm wire

With that engine personally I would use a 24 volt truck alternator assuming you are using a 24 volt system. Now if you can get free vege oil setting it up to run the engine on it is a breeze.

One wraps a few turns of the pipe you are using for the vege fuel supply around the exhaust pipe and start the engine on diesel. Once the engine is upto temp switch it over to the vege oil. Vege oil at 60 degrees has the same viscosity of diesel and it does pay to put an inline filer in. When you want to stop the engine switch it back over to diesel to clean the fuel system then one is ready next time to start.

A alternator will give a heap more current for battery charging so if one has the horsepower there it would pay to use one.

The big advantage of the F&P is that it requires a much lower rpm than anything else which makes it much more compatible with a slow diesel.

Not sure how to best connect up the F&P electrically. May need to just get it running and measure some voltages and then work out what needs to be changed from that.

Will be very interested to hear what you think about your new super heavy monster exhaust muffler, once you get that hooked up.

Mark, I've a few different types of F@P stators/rotors. available if you go ahead down that track . I've had them from way back when we started this crazy thing about using a bloody washing machine for a windmill, must have been the booze that started it all?.

Anyhow , nice Diesel engine,should supplement your solar stuff real good.

Thanks guys, it will be for a 48v system so alternators are not going to work.

Bruce, thanks mate, but I have a few stators already, probably not needed till next winter, so no rush. Even on a cloudy day like we have here today the batteries were floating at 9.30am.
