ALL like some help please grid tie inverters just got 2 kg of damaged cells and put 5 panels together look not to bad for a experiment all panels have 36 cells put out about 20 21 v no lode.
Looking for tips how many panels to an inverter how to test so i don’t over lode thing like that in a newbe but starting to pick thing up just looking for advice please
I have also ordered an inverter
Brand: Power Jack
Model No.: PSWGT-1200
Continuous Output Power: 1200W
Output Wave Form: PURE SINE WAVE
DC Input Voltage: DC 14-28Volt(solar panel/wind turbine)
AC Output Voltage: AC 190v-240v
Frequency: 50Hz
Efficiency: 90%
Distortion: 2%
Temperature Protection: 55C ± 5
Weight: 4.5kgs
Warranty: 2 years

1kg 6x6 monocrystalline solar cell broken pieces

These cells are from our sorting process. They have various issues such as hairline cracks, corners missing to being split in half. If you are not bothered with the looks of your panel or if you are looking for a quantity of solar cells to experiment, power small devises, break cells into smaller pieces etc, this is very good value for money.
Most potential quarters are around ½ and ¾ of a normal cells surface area. The picture represents a typical sample of a potential quarter.

For a single complete mono cell, the output is approx 3.75 Watt. When a cell is partly fractured, the output is proportionally reduced.

The solar cells are produced by a major international manufacturer.

All cells are sold without tapping wire.

Cells typical voltage is 0.65 in direct sunlight.

1000 grams of cells have a maximum output of around 327 Watts.

Hi Allan

The cells would be good to play with for small projects but not much use on the inverter you have ordered as this inverter will hardly cut in on these cells as the voltage under load will sag to a point to low to drive the inverter. I have one of these units and to get any sort of output it needs to be on e 24 volt system with panel rating of 600 watts plus to get 500 watts to the grid. On your panels it would have a hard time synchronizing with the mains. They are only efficient above 24 volts and as it comes back to 14 volts it is useless. Just enough power to flash the led indicator.

All the best

Hi thanks for the info i can lift the pannel voltage just by adding a half pannel or hook 2 up together the inverter is 14 to 28 v the pannels put out a good 14-15 v when pulling 6 ammps that is only 4 pannels i will have about 14 pannels when compleate i can boost the power by adding cells as they give out a good .62 volt

just need to know some of the pit falls as very new to this i can buld any size / voltage pannel i need just need some pratice and a lot of mentoring

thanks for your time
