Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I bought one of these and I like the concept, BUT...........

This thing gets so easily lost. Has to have a strange MPPT algorithm. I'm running a 60V array into a 12V battery and in less than prime light levels the input voltage can drop to near battery voltage levels and stay there. Disconnect the panels for 5 seconds and when reconnected it jumps back up to normal panel voltage with +30% boost in output power. It is so bad I had to build a circuit that looks at panel voltage. If it drops way down for two minutes, then it disconnects the panels for 5 seconds. Just one of several strange things it does. Am I the only one with a critical eye>

Perhaps its a fake clone and not the real item, see this Link explains how to distinguish the fakes sold on EBay\AliExpress for this controller.

I have an IPanda 60 amp MPPT controller that I purchased off the factory about 3 years ago that does exactly the same thing, during cloudy periods the tracking drops down to near battery voltage, then when the sun comes fully out, the useless thing stays at the low point and wont track back up to the correct level and will sit like that all day, its software leaves a lot to be desired. Haven't used it for a couple of years now.

The Chinese are great coping stuff but when it comes to software design hopeless.

I got one about a year ago when they first came out, so very unlikely it was a knock off, unfortunately it only lasted a couple of weeks, one of the internal transformers $hit itself and was unable to get a replacement part. The company never replied to any questions, just not interested unless you are ordering 5 pallets of their crap products.

But for the short time was working it did run as well as the ep ever controller.
The ep ever if you are on 12/24v is actually great, I have one running on a small 24v setup that runs the shed for well over 18 months, never missed a beat and has a ripper big heat sink that covers the entire back area. Have one in my caravan too and that's perfect a year later too.
