Thanks bopper for your resizing help,,it,s a beauty.

Have a couple of them from long time back .found them while cleaning up .massive bearings and large magnet ring. Can easily rewire. That's my homemade shaft ,the main cable exits out through the shaft ,while the green magnet enclosure spins.

no worries

interesting to see the trailer hub being used that way, I found many uses over the years for axle stubs and hubs, biggest project was a sliding gate (that weighed well over a hundred kilos) using axle stubs to support it and power the gate opening/closing system they had to take the whole weight of a gate big enough for semis to turn through, yet the gate itself couldnt have jockey wheels as the driveway was on a slant
Was quite the engineering job as as it closed, a triangular piece lowered itself into the gap under the gate proper so you couldnt slip under it (by the time it was fully closed, the gate was nearly 2 ft above the ground!)

Knowing what I know now, I would have it up on a pole... but I gave it to Dennis back in the day.... I think he found love and dropped windmills, so no idea of where it is at present.

It would have been perfectly fine.... but I was comparing it with my axial flux which I could pull 5kw out of... so the 1kw or so from that was not worth considering.

Like I said, knowing what I know now, I would have shown a lot more respect for it.. it would have been ideal, and a close approximation of the AWP... which has been a real winner down on this island for about 10 years in the marine wind.

I have not touched a PJ /w7 board for a long time, and they are still running around the island.

I trust yours is still fine too.

I actually liked the way I used the strip steel. ( from power pole cross arms ) to make the drum. She was solid... wish I still had it.

Hi John(Oztules),

I,ll see if Dennis has still got your handywork-maybe,he,s a hoarder, nice type of hoarder, that is!.
the W7 circuit post is on energy matters forum if you like to catch up ,I go under the name of solar@wind ,some sort of stuff-up with my brucedownunder name.

I,m installing a remote for my W7 up stairs in the living room to monitor and control it ,mainly so I don,t have to go under the house at night.

My W7 has a db9 remote connector mounted on it,s own pcb and I can,t tell ,by looking at it, which wires go where. I,d like to put a tail on it to hold a RG type connector which is supplied from the chinese maker. therefore ,I,d like to get the color code of wiring correct -only 3 wires.

Hope you and the family are all well

Bruce
