Hi All

I can get a 260ah AGM battery on evil bay for $410.
evil bay

Am I better off with one large battery or two smaller ones ?

Regards

EDIT: That looks like a scam. Private Listings allow the seller to bid and artificially
jack up the price.Edited by Dinosaur 2011-10-25

Hi Dino

I like to use a single battery wherever possible as when you use two they tend to get out of balance with a possible lazy cell and will require more equalization.

If you use two batteries in paralleled make sure they are the same type and age if possible.

All the best

Hi All

Hi Bob, well won that bid with $455 + Freight = $522
I had allowed $600 + Freight for 2 batteries, so if the batteries are what they say they are
then I think I got a good deal.

Hi Dino

Sounds good to me this could be the start of something big. Might be a good idea to fit a desulphator from new if you are going to use it as a deep cycle to keep it in good condition.

All the best

Dino, do you have a battery wholesale shop in your area. They may also sell retail, worth to check out. I got all of my deep cycle batteries from such a place, they import them by the pallet load and offer good prices. You'll save the delivery cost if you can pick up yourself and you'll see what you are getting before handing over money.

Just looked up the battery link above, I hope you can move 70kg about, I could,nt .Edited by Tinker 2011-10-27

Hi All

Tinker, I did that before I bought the one on line.
Wagga Wagga suffers from lack of compitition.
They wanted $440 for 100ah batteries, so by 2 = $880
I got 260 ah for $520 delivered.
