Sorry, got some small ambiguous questions..

I purchased a custom solar panel cell a 24W foldable thin mono solar panel back in may of last year, and i need to know what the cheapest and most portable vert/control/battery setup i can buy for it would be ? I would imagine i need a inverter and battery, but what type ?

My system has a 12 foot cord with two small holes ( - - ) (one bigger than the other. and it came with a pair of clamps that fit.

I also have a existing windmill in my yard, can this be converted to draw power ?

Any questions let me know

Mate with just 24W to play with, id be thinking a few D size Nimh cells are going to be all you will need.
a 300W inverter will run for one hour every 2 days of sun.

get a bigger panel try installers and a carton of beer, that will get you a broken one, then go to a glazier and pick up a piece of scrap glass or get a piece cut.
silicone around the edges, whalah
185W panel that makes 160W or more for $80 or less
Luck favours the well prepared

can i daisy chain a bunch of different type cells ?

also what about the existing windmill(s) i have , they spin constantly and we get a good amount of wind especially in the coming months.

can i buy some king of "generator" that can be hooked up to it ?

By the way thanks for your reply!

Hi Xavier

Yeah you can connect more than one solar panel together to increate the output. If you connect them in parallel, just add the watt ratings for each panel together, assuming they are all in direct sunlight. ie, a 12v 40watt and a 12v 60watt panel, connected in parallel, will give 12v at 100 watts.

Connecting them in series is a different matter, the string is only a good as the weakest panel, 40 watts in this case. So we would end up with 24v at 80 watts ( 2 times 40w ). There's actally a lot more to this that this simple explaination, but it gives you the idea. Miss matched panels shouldn't be conneced in series.

Need some more info on the windmills. What type, garden ornaments? Diameter, etc. Dont expect much ( anything ) from a windmill less than 1.5m diameter.
