Thanks to KarlJ in another post, I followed his link ( http://www.ato.gov.au/rba/print.asp?doc=/RBA/Content/92788.h tm )to the ATO regarding GST, upon reading the Edited Version of Private Ruling I noticed it was stated that: Under the legislation, the electricity retailer will be required to credit you 50.05 cents/kwh for the electricity exported to the grid. If this is true and current, why then, are we in WA offered 40 cents for the same amount? Can anyone explain this or am I just a confused newbie? Each state has a different feed in tariff. State government feed-in tariff schemes The 50.05¢ is a rate paid for some systems in ACT. The tax ruling would have been for a person from that state. |

Yep although we get a miserable 0.47c over here we have heaps more sunshine too. We typically get 22% more output annually per KW panels so that narrows the gap back to a few cents ($0.5734 vs VIC 0.66 PFIT) CEC figures I reckon are conservative for here too, they claim 4.4KW per KW of installed panels and I'm running closer to 5.4KW / KW panels. _this may be a special time as we've had no rain to speak of and mostly clear skies Yesterday was my typical day again with 29KW/hrs fed into the grid and 33KW/hrs generated . last week I fed in 197KW/hrs or made about $90, not bad for doing very little. Thanks Guys, I've been thinking about wind power for some time and have 5 F&Ps of which some have been modified, but, after reading these forums over and over, I now think that my best option is to have a commercially supplied PV system and in addition build a radial flux HAWT, could I then connect the mill to the inverter supplied with the PV system? The Italian member Spitsfire looks to me fairly well thought out and I would like to build a similar one. What do other members think? ps. I have posted this on the wind power forum too The man who never made a mistake never made anything |
