I will inform Gizmo. Might be that the forums don't like you posting from a mobile phone, as it expects everything to be from a browser on a full-size computer. I might be wrong on that, but that is what it looks like. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Revlac, I have the figures worked out, the issue for me is that I don't fully understand the terms they are using. I am led to believe that LiFePo4 should be charged in 2 stages, first is Constant Current. As you can see, there is no Constant Current parameter in this menu. Second stage is Constant Voltage, which I have set to 14.2V. (Battery manufacturer states 14.6V) Float is not desirable, but cannot be set to zero so I went for a figure that I hope will be harmless at worst. Boost also cannot be set to zero, so I went for a short burst at the manufacturers recommended charge voltage. Over VOltage and Under Voltage cannot be zero, so took a wild guess at those. Under & Over Recovery Voltages I didn't even try to guess because I have no idea at all. To put things in perspective, this is a single 135AH battery in an occasional use caravan, 4 or five weeks a year average usage. 340W @ 72V solar on the roof. The parameters that I can set are as follows: Constant Voltage: (14.2) Float Voltage: (12.6) Boost Voltage: (14.6) Boost Charge Time: (6 min) Bat. O/voltage: (14.7) Bat. O/voltage recovery: (14.2?) Bat. U/voltage: (12.5) Bat. U/voltage recovery: (12.5?) Max. discharge current: 100A Maximum charge current: 40A Cheers, Phill. |

I used to have the previous model of that charger made by IPanda, it was the 60A version; the settings I used on a 4 cell 12V 400 AH Lifepo4 battery below. Unfortunately it was a heap of junk, threw it in the bin, its mppt algorithm was hopeless, it kept loosing the mppt point whenever the sun got clouded over and never recovered, without turning it off and on again, I ended up designing my own which worked much better. Constant Voltage: (14.0) 3.5v/cell Float Voltage: (13.4) 3.35/cell Boost Voltage: (14.0) 3.5/cell Boost Charge Time: (1hr) allow enough time for BMS to top balance Bat. O/voltage: (14.4) 3.6v/cell Bat. O/voltage recovery: (14) Bat. U/voltage: (11.2) Bat. U/voltage recovery: (12?) Max. discharge current: 100A Maximum charge current: 40A Cheers Mike |

Thanks Mike. Looks like I wasn't wildly off the mark. I hope the model I have, which is the 3rd iteration I believe, performs somewhat better. It has been great as an AGM charger over the last 12 months if that is anything to go by. Cheers, Phill. |
